Facilities-Plumber / Woodward

FACILITIES / PLUMBER

JOB SUMMARY:

Responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair and planned maintenance (PM) on building equipment. Provides local technical support in the laboratory and patience care centers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Repair building infrastructure and equipment.
  2. Evaluate basic lab equipment issues, implement appropriate repairs, and as assigned, perform PM and safety/environmental inspections.
  3. May assist department technicians in multiple trade repairs/resolution.
  4. Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
  5. Follow appropriate TriCore policies, procedures, lab protocol, and complete necessary documentation.
  6. Maintain daily communication with customers as directed, to ensure resolution and proper follow up, leading to strong customer relations and ongoing customer satisfaction.
  7. Work as a member of the Facilities team to provide efficient service delivery to all TriCore locations.
  8. When trained, able to share on-call responsibility.
  9. Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
  10. Ensure proper care of tools and test equipment and ensure calibration.
  11. Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.
  12. Understand and utilize sources of help (i.e., manuals, tech support, online resources) to answer questions when performing PM.
  13. Meet CAP, Health and Human Services, Environment Health and Safety requirements, and all other applicable regulatory requirements.
  14. Coordinate and assist TriCore staff with the Temperature Monitoring System.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION / EDUCATION

  • Completion of an apprenticeship program and passing the state exam resulting in a NM Journeyman Plumber License.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in trade.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Overnight/out of town travel may be required. Driving required. Must be insurable by TriCore’s insurance carrier.
  • Able to work overtime.

PREFERENCES:

  • Previous Facilities related experience.
  • Familiar with maintenance and repair of HVAC systems.
  • Associates degree with a preference in STEM based degrees.

IMMUNIZATION REQUIREMENTS:

Prove immunity to Hepatitis B, be immunized, or sign a waiver refusing hepatitis immunization. Provide documentation of a PPD test conducted not more than 90 days prior to date of hire or have a PPD test conducted.

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Advance knowledge of plumbing systems.
  2. Advance knowledge of the test equipment used in troubleshooting plumbing systems and equipment.
  3. Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
  4. Generate reports and provide documentation to regulatory bodies.
  5. Handle hazardous material and waste in accordance with safety procedures and regulations. Specific training requirements are documented in TriCore’s Waste Management Plan, SAF-011.
  6. Provide plumbing training to department staff and participate in cross training.
  7. Participate in continuing education programs.
  8. Participate in quality assurance programs to ensure that quality standards are met.
  9. Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  10. Valid NM Driver's license and must be insurable by TriCore insurance carrier.
  11. Familiar with Windows operating systems: Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  12. Emergency call back may be required during night/weekend/holiday.
